The series of work sessions for your facility finance representatives on Oahu are going well and as scheduled.  At the same time, your clinic representatives at the Maui sessions continue to learn more about the practice of standardizing and documenting information.   You will likely continue to see project specialists at your facility doing walkthroughs and assessments pertaining to scheduling, materials management, operating room, pharmacy, and electronic document management.  Last Wednesday, an active emergency department demonstration took place.

The EMeRGE project also includes important technical additions.  First, work has begun to install a number of new servers (critical computer systems actively running to take care of the requests of other programs that our hospital system requires). These systems will serve to support the EMeRGE system.  Additionally, Device Fairs are being planned at Kona Community Hospital, Maui Memorial Medical Center, Leahi Hospital, and West Kauai Medical Center during the week of March 19th.  A device fair provides an opportunity for each region to get a hands-on look at some of the new medical grade personal computers, mobile computers and e-tablets.

Our EMeRGE project continues to move forward.  Stage 2, the Planning and Analysis Phase, is scheduled to be completed next week. Then we will begin Stage 3, the Design, Configuration and Unit Testing Phase.  This is the main stage where the system is designed, built, and unit testing begins.  So we have reached another significant milestone in our on-going EMeRGE project!

Again, we invite you to share your feedback about the EMeRGE project at EMR@hhsc.org.
