The HHSC's Electronic Medical Record (EMR) program to replace the paper medical record with an online record continues to move forward.

The Soarian Financials kickoff took place on December 15, 2011 in Honolulu, involving your hospital and Siemens representatives, who got together to get a better understanding of the upcoming Stage 3 (Design, Configure and Unit Test), which begins in mid February 2012.  Similarly, the Soarian Clinicals kickoff will occur on Maui on January 9, 2012 – involving clinical representatives from your HHSC facility.

Our HHSC EMR Theme Contest has drawn close to 100 entries sent via fax and email.  Remember, submission deadline is two weeks away, Friday, January 6, 2012, at 9:00 a.m., with the winning entry picked on Friday, January 13, 2012 at noon.  At this point, we have received many, many GREAT theme suggestions.

At the same time, an intranet site, devoted to the project, has just been completed and will be updated regularly for all HHSC Users (employees and physicians to read).  Our intranet is intended to serve as a valuable tool in providing information on our various phases of implementation, including hyperlinks to various topics and subtopics of our extensive EMR program.

Additionally, an "EMR Update" section has been developed on our HHSC website for the general public.  The internet site is intended to serve as a valuable tool in providing EMR information to anyone that wishes to be informed of project events.
